Wellington, New Zealand, is a small yet vibrant, cosmopolitan city, the capital of New Zealand, set on the shores of Port Nicholson, ringed by mountainous ranges, flanked by striking Mount Victoria and enhanced by the Cape Cod architectural influence.

For Lord of the Rings devotees, Wellington is within easy reach of many of the key locations – the sites of Isengard, Rivendell and Dunharrow.

Wellington Zoo is home to a global collection of over 500 endangered and common animals, while the Karori Wildlife Sanctuary is home to endangered and rare New Zealand wildlife. Both locations house the native flightless bird, the kiwi.
